Search Engine Optimization. Google, On-Page & Off-Page Factors An Important Note

A large part of this website is focused on using what are called on-page factors (keywords, page layout, tags and so on) to ensure that the organisation using these techniques will achieve high ranking search engine page results called SERPs through good search engine optimization techniques. Many web pages will rank very well by careful attention to these on page factors. However at some point, which is impossible to define, it becomes extremely difficult if not impossible to improve a web pages ranking based solely upon these on page factors.

If you need to be convinced of this you will find many web pages occupying top slots in SERPs which apart from having the searched for keyword in the title (and sometimes not even there) do not have any more keywords on that page.

Beware Those Who Guarantee Results From Search Engine

When someone therefore offers to guarantee you a top 10, 20 or even 30 ranking be aware that it is almost impossible to give such a guarantee within your own particular niche.

I can certainly and without any fear of contradiction guarantee you number 1 page results even on Google for lots of key phrases after a bit of homework and time spent with you. However these guaranteed pages would probably not attract the large volumes of traffic you seek because they are not being looked for and therefore there is no competition.

To get beyond this mysterious threshold Googles complex PageRank algorithm becomes an important factor as do linking strategies in general. The point of bringing up this subject now is to alert you to what might initially seem fairly easy and straightforward. It becomes increasingly difficult, but still possible, to get high ranking for highly competitive keywords.

Before delving into this website any further, connect to the Internet and if you do not have the Google toolbar installed then install it now.

This tool is remarkably useful and is to e at least essential in order to understand much of what is written about from a practical viewpoint. If you are not sure how to install the toolbar just go to Google and enter Google tool bar in the search box. This is a good place to start the website since most of what we discuss is first and foremost related to Google, the very best search engine there is. I also cannot think of a better way of getting you involved right from the start.

As will become more clear to you as you read into the website you can almost ignore all international free submission search engines other than Google these days.

I make no apologies for therefore focusing almost exclusively on Google on this site. If I tried to cover details pertinent to all the other search engines I would lengthen the site, confuse you and introduce details which today are of lesser importance.

If you do a good job of designing for Google you automatically do a good job of designing for most of the rest.
